  • Dr. Alex del Olmo

With an interest in underwater life from a very young age, Alex became a certified diver at the tender age of 18, later acquiring licenses as Commercial Diver, PADI & SSI instructor, extended Range Trimix Diver and extended range wreck diver, allowing him to deep dive with safety up to -60 m.

Having earned universitary degrees in Audiovisual Communication, master's degree in Creative Documentary, master’s degree in Producing and Directing Fiction for TV, as well as a PhD in Cinema and Audiovisuals, Alex's academic background provided him a solid foundation to work in the realm of television, film and documentary-making for over 25 years.

Alex secured full-time tenure as PhD Professor at the Barcelona cinema faculty, but ultimately decided to pursue his dream of traveling and filming all over the Indo-Pacific for a year, where he ended up becoming the cruise director for the renowned Seven Seas liveaboard. This proved to be the perfect combination, allowing him to combine his passion for diving with his work as an underwater cameraman, DoP and underwater filmmaker for production companies, television, documentaries and cinema.

Alex has been filming underwater for over 15 years, diving for near 30 years, logging over 7,000 dives, and he also has a theoretical background that is unique in this profession. As such, he has mastered the audiovisual arts to create compelling stories, specializing in filming all kinds of marine life in the most challenging underwater environments world-wide.

Alex's work earned him awards at the most prestigious international underwater film festivals, and his films have been broadcast on a variety of national and international television networks.

  • Lidia Seara

Lidia got her bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Media at the university of Barcelona, with a strong focus on the study of color in cinema. Using color psychology, she uses the audiovisual medium as a narrative tool in order to draw out emotions from the viewer.

Her work includes several video essays, the first one taking the viewer on a visual journey through the different nuances of the color wheel. The work became a hit online, accumulating millions of views and being showcased on sites like No Film School and Nowness. This early success encouraged Lidia to produce her final degree project around this theme: "Requiem for RGB".

Alex was her teacher during the university years, and in 2017 he took Lidia diving for the first time. This is where the switch flipped: she fell in love with the underwater world, participating in marine conservation and becoming a Divemaster. It quickly became apparent that their skills complemented each other perfectly, with Lidia’s work allowing Alex' underwater videography to shine even more.

She has recently been in charge of color grading “Into the Blue: Wonders of the Coral Triangle”, a documentary series about the wonders of the Coral Triangle broadcast internationally around Europe's national TV stations.

Lidia’s wealth of knowledge and dedication to quality makes her one of the most experienced colorists in the field of underwater videography.
